i was getting a lot of calls too....to meet at a PANERA BREAD!!!! when i was researching about 1800 the pros (and getting a lot of negative info!!!!) they mentioned bella as another company who out source their photogs...(i.e., find some guy on craigslist and hire them to shoot the wedding)
that was enough for me to say naaaaaahhhh....but please post after ur meeting!!!! I'd love to hear what you thought :)

I thought I was the only one.. unless they are calling me because i won the 'free' wedding photography package... why are you harassing us?? sometimes i think i should inputt 516-555-5555 on the contact info for vendors...

From what I understand they are one big company that has lots of photographers working for them or represents a lot of photgraphers. I've gotten tons of calls from them as well and usually it is from sales reps. The fact that they are big enough to have sales reps deters me from them. They kept calling and calling and calling me. Finally I just lied and told them I found a photographer -way back when I didn't yet- just so I can get them to stop calling me.. For me personally I prefer to hire either a 2 person team or a single photographer, etc.
But if the bigger company works for you. Go for it!

Ha they wanted to meet us at Panera Bread tooo and got alot of calls and emails we canceled our appointment because we pick a different photog

they would send me emails, leave me messages on my cell (and somehow found out my house number too), and send me info in the mail all the time. The fact they are THIS persistent made me weary about them. The offered me some type of free engagement session, and when I called to cancel the representative berated me for 10 minutes saying how I'm wasting her precious time. After that, I will NEVER deal with them or recommend them to anybody.

Did you have to meet at a Panera Bread? I didn't know that they were basically independant photographers working under the Bella Pictures umbrella, I feel very uncomfortable with that, I think I will just follow my instincts and book with Dream life or Duet photography.

They outsource their work to freelancers---this is why they want you to meet them at Panera or Starbucks!
