Re: Bermuda
Definitely. Are you flying or cruising? Where are you staying?
Hamilton is really nothing but shopping. They also have a street fair some random night during the week... Tues? Wed? I can't remember exactly but it's pretty cool.
I'd also check out the Swizzle Inn- it's a restaurant/bar famous for it's Rum Swizzle drink. But the fun part is that in one room they give you a marker and you can sign your name on the wall somewhere. Directly across from the Swizzle Inn are the Crystal Caves. They're really pretty and it's a fun thing to do.
I'd also check out Tobacco Beach. It's a small beach in St. George but it's not very crowded, they have a little bar/grill place steps from the sand with amazing chicken quesedillas. And the snorkeling there is awesome- SO many fish.
There's also Horseshoe Beach which is gorgeous and fun because there's all rocks to climb on and everything, but it's always pretty crowded. I think there's also an aquarium over by Horseshoe Beach, but I've never been to it.
The last thing I'd suggest is the Jet Ski tour of the Bermuda. It's like an hour long tour and you go out of the bay into the open water and to a shipwreck where you can feed fish. Then they take you to the part of the island with all the celebs summer homes. Our jet ski broke down in front of David Bowie's house in fact. lol!
Also, check out the Dockyard Glass Blowers. They do some amazing work and their rum cake is sooooooooo good. I have to chocolate ones in my fridge at home!
ETA: Sorry for writing a novel, but I've been there so often. We were actually there last week!

Re: Bermuda
GREAT review, Jill!
I've been via cruise so i was limited on my time there. Did Horseshoe Bay Beach one day; its beautiful in both the sand and water. we got there early but it does get crowded. The other day we walked all around St. Georges and its shops (town hall, perfumery, checked my email, etc), did the Crystal Caves (our tour guide was AWESOME and made it!), and then walked around Hamilton. We would have went parasailing or jet skiing but decided against it because of the time.
Enjoy!

Horseshoe Beach is AMAZING... probably my favorite beach I've been to anywhere in the whole world. It's the most beautiful place, I love it and can't wait to go back. Definitely take a walk down the beach to the more secluded parts!

Hmmm I can't remember the name, but at the Naval Dockyard there's a tourist info center and there's pamphlets about it. It's NOT the one that's right IN the naval dockyard though. I think it's $145 for a single person or $155 for 2 people to a jet ski. I'm going to ask FSIL- I think she still has the pamphlet.

Dana- if you like Horseshoe Beach, you'd absolutely LOVE Tobacco Beach!!! It's similar but smaller and less crowded and a little more relaxed. (As if Horseshoe Beach is hectic. )

this is the one we did this year (wasn't as great as the one last year but we were spoiled and got an extra 45 minutes since your jet ski broke down LOL)
It was $155 for a 2 person ski and $145 for a single. And you can actually get this tour out of St. George or out of Dockyard, but based on ours I would suggest doing the Dockyard one only because we hit a lot of 'slow speed' zones in St. George because there was a lot around us. I feel like if you take the jets out of Dockyard you want hit as many because there is more open water.
