Bermuda/Caribbean Cruise?

So FH and I are looking to do a 9 night cruise for our HM to these locales...the cruise leaves July 22, 2010.

I know that we'll be in hurricane season...do you think we'll be alright or should we keep looking?

Re: Bermuda/Caribbean Cruise?

Hi hall twin! We booked a Caribbean cruise for August of this year and were told that it would be fine. In late July/August, hurricane season is pretty much over with and if there does happen to be a hurricane, the boat just reroutes and takes you to different islands. HTH!

Re: Bermuda/Caribbean Cruise?

Huricane season is June to begining of october. Very rarely is there a problem because of the weather. If it does happen they reroute or reaccomodate you (even if it's a resort). Don't even worry about hurricane season.

If you're worried, you could always get travel insurance.

that sounds like an awesome cruise, im sure you'll have an amazing time. You know what, i was so excited to go to turks and caicos, i had wanted to for years. Now i'll say that yes the beach was absolutely amazing, such beautiful calm water. But there wasnt a lot to do around and not much to see. Luckily for margaritaville, we went there after the beach and its a lot of fun there. Otherwise as we rode to the beach which was further from where the ship docked, there was so much construction going on and nothing to see most of the ride.

I liked Bermuda ALOT more, infact ive been really want to go back to Bermuda. We tried to do a cruise to bermuda for our 1st anniversary next month but the dates for the cruise didnt work out for us, well me bc of work.

Re: Bermuda/Caribbean Cruise?

You should be fine, but it is hurricane season, so I would suggest buying insurance for your trip. Not b/c you will be affected by the weather... they are very good with re-routing the ports of call... but b/c some of the islands may see damage which will affect your excursions. Otherwise, you can enjoy everything on your cruise ship anyway. FUN!!!!

i agree, i think everyone should get travel insurance for every trip no matter the situation. You just never know what can happen, whether its hurricane or something else.

Re: Bermuda/Caribbean Cruise?

DH and I went to Bermuda (not a cruise) for our HM in October. We had no problems at all. The weather was was perfect. I also know that DH and his family went on a cruise to Bermuda a few years ago in June and his parents are going on the same cruise again this July. I don't imagine there being any problems down there! You'll love it!
