I'm going on the Nordic Empress with Royal Caribbean the end of August.....
I am going on Royal Carribeans Nordic Empress in the beginning of August.
just a little fact to put you guys at ease...
my aunts and uncles went on a cruise to bermuda a few years ago...I believe royal caribbean...and a hurricane hit...well they turned the boat around and took them to nova scotia...they said it was still great...so at least you don't have to go back to NY!!
Just wanted to warn you about cruising in October - Last year, My parents went on a Bermuda cruise - actually they were on Celebrity's zenith and as they were docked in Bermuda, a hurricane hit and the ship remained docked rather than sail away from the storm. I`m sure the captain had his reasons, food supplies, no crew - whatever, but the passengers were mostly sick and there were no shows due to the rocking of the boat. Needless to say, my parents had a terrible time.
On the other hand, Two years ago, I went on a carribean cruise - stopping on five islands, also on Celebrity`s Zenith- leaving NY on November 4th - We had excellent weather, while we were on the cruise- a little chilly at night- but the daytime was warm- and the service was fantastic. So, you really are taking a chance on the weather conditions.
it's not cheap, ive been finding about $3500 for both of us in a delux ocean view room. I don't think I feel like taking chances though....probably will do aruba since you don't have to worry about weather, it's just that I used to go there with an ex boyfriend and wanted to go somewhere new with my new husband!!
