Best Bridal Shower Ideas

I am just wondering what the best themes, favors, games, etc. you have seen or heard of for a Bridal shower!!! TIA!!

My theme was FISH because I LOVE FISH.

Centerpieces, invitations, thank yous, and of course my favorite BALLOONS!!!

I've heard of a Luau theme also.

Went to one that had SEASONS (everyone was assigned a season and the gift had to coordinate. Beach chairs for summer, cashmere throw for winter...etc)

Also, a 'day in the life of': Shower where you were assigned a time (9am, 7pm, etc) and had to get a gift to coordinate. The gifts were given starting from the time she woke up until she went to sleep.

I did a whole pink theme..I love the color pink and since my wedding theme is more fall..I had to do the pink for the shower..BTW..I planned my shower with my mom, sister, and bridal party. I didn't want a surprise.

Throughout the shower, I had to answer questions about my FI. We had a timer set to go off every two minutes. When the timer went off, my sister asked me the questions and who's ever gift I was opening got a small gift.

At my friends shower, her sister did a whole slide show of the bride, groom, friends, family etc..it was really cute and creative. And the guests were really into it.

I think we are going to do my shower at a tea salon- where they do high tea.. Which- if you have ever had high tea-- it is a lot of fun..

There are a couple places in the city--
Lady Mendls is where I think we are going to do my shower.. My mom also mentioned a place in LI called the Boston Tea Party Cafe..

Lady Mendls is great! we went there for my friend's bridal shower in april. there's a lot of delicious food, so try not to eat beforehand.

Thanks for the info! How many people were there? Just curious to know about amount of people and which room- I know they have three..

For mine, they had asked FI questions about me beforehand. Before I could open a gift I had to get the question right. I had to answer what I think he would have said, not necessarily what the right answer was. The person whose gift it was that I was opening
got to be the one reading the question.

It was really funny. Some of them were really hard!!! But most were funny, and it was funny to hear what my FI had said.

If you want the list of questions (some are general) I'd be happy to give them to you...

i think we had 12 people. i think we were in the marbury room. it was cool having the whole room to ourselves.

Hmm.. ok, well we are going to be having like 50- I hope they can accommodate-- my mom is waiting to hear back from them.. I am obviously involved in helping to plan : )

PLay 'dress the bridesmaids' - split people into 2 or 3 groups & have each group 'dress' the bridesmaid in a gown made out of either toilet paper or paper towles (the kind on the roll). I think toilet paper works better.

My girlfriend had a wine themed shower at an italian restaurant. Her BMs asked every one to bring a bottle of wine from any region of Italy since that's where they are going on their honeymoon.

Believe it or not I just got an invite for another shower for the same girl. This one is a spa theme. So I think everyone is supposed to bring something so she can pamper herself.

She has aready had 3 showers! Thank God, I was only invited to two of them. I am gonna be broke by the time her Oct wedding rolls around.
