Best Engagement Gift You Got!

One of my best friends just got engaged. I want to get her something really great, not expensive, and maybe kind of fun.

Believe it or not the best gift I got was a Hallmark wedding planner! It really did keep me organized.

Any ideas?

I loved all my things but i had a few favorites - but i'll go with the gorgeous scrapbook wedding kit with pens in my BM colors and book of love quotes i got from a friend of his family i'd met briefly a year beore but she remembered i love scrapbooking and i LOVE quotes of all kinds - it was really so sweet and thoughtful of her!! and the colored pens are great!! she had asked FH what colors i had picked and coordinated them perfectly!!

The 'Long ISland Ice tea kit' maybe? I LOVE LI ice teas and friends of ours got us everything we need to make them (all the alcohols), plus a pitcher and glasses...I think personal gifts are always the best. I also loved books (Kitchen Soup for the Brides Soul), Wedding scrapbook, and homemade DVD of pictures of us.

MY FI's best friend got us tickets to go to see Wicked w/ him & his gf at the time. Also included was dinner before the show--it was such a great gift & the show was great!!!

Something useful like a beautiful platter or pitcher and glasses set. Look at Carte and Barrel and Pottery Barn for some 'fun' ideas. Those were def. my fave gifts (besides $ ofcourse)

My best friend got me beautiful Waterford toasting flutes that I will use at my wedding, I also got the matching Waterford picture Frame.

The best gifts I have gotten so far have been my toasting flutes and cake server and money. You can never go wrong with that! I also got a really nice scapbook to put all of my pictures, etc in.

One of my BM got me this beautiful pottery bowl that is pink, blue, and purple swirls. She got it for my engagement but didn't know if I would like it. So she kept it at her place for a while to see my reaction. The day I saw it, I was like 'I love that'. So a little while later, she gave me one just like it, but with different colors, and said, 'you know, the one I got you is actually the one downstairs. I just kept it there to test the waters to see if you liked it or not.' So I switched bowls with her, since I loved the first one better, and it was supposed to be mine anyways!

i absolutely love the blanket we got from things remembered, it was personalized which is great. i can't wait to put in over the back of the couch

we got an awesome waffle maker (FH and I LOVE FOOD!) and a great cutlurey set that will definitely be put to good use!

My food processor and crockpot are the two items I have used the most.

Oh, and money. I'm not big on knick-knacks or personalized gifts and tend to be a bit picky. We have a small house and don't have much room.

I didnt get anything, but we didnt have a party. Theyre making up for it with my bridal shower gifts though! Wow. People are so generous.

I think toasting flutes are a great idea.

My favorites so far were Jessica Simpson's Wedding Book ( sorry I just love her), a couples massage, my Lifetime Wedding Planner, and a wedding day Lladro!

One of my friends got us a gift certificate for dinner so that we can enjoy a night out without having to worry about the fact that we should be saving for the wedding.

We had an engagement BBQ. It was really cool beacause a lot of people bought us things to go with the theme. We got a BBQ, cookbooks, tools, aprons, and other stuff. My favorite is a BBQ murder mystery. I can't wait to have a party and play it.

Oh, I also LOVE things that are hand-made. We received two hand towels that were cross stitched.
