Best EXCUSE for not sending an RSVP???

Original post by KerriJohnS

I was going to mail it this weekend but was waiting to buy a stamp!!!

Um... there's a stamp on it! OH and I probably should note that this person lives in the SAME building as me... and ONLY has to slip it in my mailbox... no need to actually mail it. But in any event.. THERE'S A STAMP ON IT.

I find this funny though...

What are some of your RSVP's stories and excuses?

Someone send there's out today and then told me 'see I sent in my RSVP a day early!'

Um the RSVP date is tomorrow.

LMAO... so they thought the date to SEND was the date listed not that it was a DUE date???

OMFG!!! That's ridiculously stupid!! hahahahaha!!

I did not know what to say so I just thanked them

That's classic!

Hmm... I had a few.

FMIL said she wanted to keep the whole invitation, so she didn't bother to send back the RSVP. FH told her he'd give her a new one, so she asked him can't he just take the one he'd give her and write her name on it.....

My brother told my mom that its stupid to send it back. He said he didn't need to because I know he'd be going- why wouldn't he come??

FSIL took it to work to mail it, and then had no idea where it went, or what happened to it, or even when it disappeared... but good news- she eventually found it and mailed it, I got it Monday.

BPs had a similar issue as my brother... a few of them though that since they are IN the wedding, I should totally assume they are coming.

I haven't even been given the courtesy of an excuse from anyone yet. I would gladly welcome a BS excuse from 90 people at this point.

I had two -

'Oh, the invitation? I lost that weeks ago.'

and

'It's too nice to write on, why would anyone do that?' Uhhh, because it asks for a RESPONSE.

I had all kids of people saying they sent them back...but yet I never got them. Seriously...they had return addresses and stamps on them. The post office wouldnt lose them ALL.

Quite a few of the ones I DID recieve back had no names or number attending...just a check on either line. So Im like...hmm...ok?? What did they think those empty spaces were for????
