I am in the beginning stages of planning my wedding. While a great reception hall is important to me, I really want the food to be the highlight. Most halls have a reputation for less than terrific food, I would like amazing food. Any ideas? Any place to stay away from? Please help me!

Russo's on the Bay is famous for their incredible food! Our guests are going to have an 11 choice dinner menu instead of the usual 3 or 4, and then we are having a viennese hour with every kind of dessert and breakfast food imaginable-crepes, a donut maker, ice cream machines, and even a cotton candy machine!

Another vote for Lovin Oven. They have several different types of locations depending on what you would like atmosphere wise (large hall - Flowerfield; Lands End - large and on the beach; Vanderbilt mansion - smaller, on water, old mansion) but the food is the same and FABULOUS at each. We did ours at the Vanderbilt. I am still on cloud 9. Good luck!

VILLA LOMBARDI'S. I went to a bridal showcase there where you got to sample to cocktail hour food. Amazing. I booked them and am getting married in March of next year. Good Luck

The food at Sans Souci in Sea Cliff is fabulous. I'm getting married there in August. FM me if you have any questions.

Another vote for Lovin Oven! The food at our wedding was wonderful. I also tasted food at Villa Lombardi's and was great too!

Re: Best Food out there?
I really enjoyed the food at weddings I've been to at Russo's on the Bay and Villa Lombardi.
Louis XVI in Patchogue is often recognized as one of the top rated restaurants on Long Island, and they accomodate wedding receptions at the restaurant. I've not yet been there, so no first hand experience.

I went to a wedding at Louis XVI and found it to be a little too uptight. The food was good, but they had VERY small portions and it was kind of snobby.

definatly lovin ovens!!! everybody raves about their food at flower fields and lands end. we are getting married at lands end because of the food and reputaion. we just had our tasting there and both families are very hard to please- foodwise- and they were astonished at how amazing the food was prepared and tasted. they couldnt get enough.

Why not think out of the box and find a unique location and then get the caterer of your dreams. You can spend as much as you want on the food that way! The Art of Eating in the Hamptons is supposed to be amazing, as is Mary Cleaver Co. in the city.
