can the best man toast be before everyone eats when is it normally done???

at our wedding, and at most that I've been to, it's done after everyone is introduced (walking in, first dance, etc) and the bride and groom are escorted to the dais or head table.
At this time most people are in their chairs and paying attention because the wait staff is now walking around taking orders.

I was planning on starting the party right away after our first dance I wanted to go right into dance music I wonder if CH wont don that. I forgot about taking the orders. I think im going to ask them to get the orders while everyone is standing around waiting for the introductions and during the first dance

At my friends wedding it was done right after their first dance. But mostly I think it is done before the meal!!! You want to do it so everyone is paying attention!!!!

We did our after the first dance and before everyone was dancing on the floor. But it was way before dinner though. I would ask your DJ/Band and RH what they think.

We had the DJ call everyone onto the dance floor for a second song after our first dance...you can try and request that he play 2 additional songs instead of just one, but I have a feeling the RHs tend to try and keep to a certain schedule and any more than 3 songs prior to taking orders and the speech may be too long for them

At a lot of weddings I've been to, it's done while I'm eating the salad. Everyone's seated, maybe we've just danced a little, still full of energy and not drunk so we're focused up front!

toasts are technically supposed to 'start' the evening so they are usually done after the first dance.
but you can have your toasts right as guests sit for the first course to be served

you can have them do it whenever they want but historically its done after first dance, after MOH, and before the blessing of the meal.. I feel anytime later- you dont have full attention of the whole room, and if you stop later in the evening to do it it can sometimes kill the mood--- AND you dont want to give him too much time to drink before he starts talkin into a mic!
