We were told today the bedroom furniture we ordered (a little more than a week ago) should be here in about 2 weeks!!! This is much sooner than we anticipated .. so, we really need to get thinking about purchasing a mattress (and boxspring, I guess .. right??)
Anyway .. does anyone have any special recommendations on which mattresses are best .. which shops are best to buy from?? Any thoughts/ideas/warnings/etc. are appreciated!!

It all depeneds on what type of mattress you want. I recommend going to a showroom, and picking out a type you want, and firmness. We chose a Simmons Beautyrest. We went to the Sleepy's showroom, and then called 1-800-mattres, and then called up Sleepys directly. We wound up getting a better price through Sleepys directly. We told them what we saw the bed for, and they gave it to us for about $400 less

I Love Stearns and Foster.. It costs a little more than the rest but you'll have it FOREVER..
I also really like sleepy's we bought both of ours there/

I agree about the Stearns and Foster. It's totally worth every dime. We bought ours at Rockaway Bedding, and have no complaints.

we ended up a rockaway bedding too-we found the one we wanted in sleepys but didn't like the sales guy so we went to Rockaway & got a better price! Spend as much as you can afford on a great mattress-every night we get into bed & say how much we love ours! I never had a REALLY good mattress before this one & neither did DH.

We also looked at sleepy's and didn't care for the sales people ,and I thought the prices were to high.We finally ended up getting a bed from Jennifer convertables, yes its true they have mattresses now.It came with a 10 year warrrenty .I found out from a friend that they are great about the warrenty.Anything happens to the bed and they will replace it ,including sagging. I have to say its sooooo comfy!!!! You may want to give them a try . Good Luck

I wouldn't say it's the best place to buy a Mattress, but we bought ours from Rockaway Bedding. It's a Sterns and Foster with a pillow top. We luv it! You can also finance your mattress there too if ya want!
