Best place to purchase books?

Best place to purchase books?

So where do you guys find bargains on books?

Is Amazon.com my best bet? I was just at Barnes & Noble and they seem to have a higher markup than Amazon. I would imagine Borders would be the same.

Any ideas?

You can also purchase books on Half.com. They are part of EBAY. I'm actually selling some of my college texts on there that are still in great condition.

I use Amazon mostly because prices are lower than B&N most times & you don't pay tax on Amazon!

I'm a big fan of used books. In my old neighborhoods, there were several bookstores that sold used books cheap. I loved browsing in those stores!!

I'm on the lookout for some out here in Suffolk...

I've gotten quite a few books from half.com - you can get most any book, new or used, at a fraction of the advertised price.

Does no one go to libraries anymore
What's wrong with them?
You know the less you use them the less money the state or city gives them every year. Sooner or later unless people donate more $ libraries will be extinct

I take out books at the library all the time. I love the fact that they have alot of new releases now...I just hate the fact that you only get 14 days to read them. SOmetimes I am too busy and I dont have enough time to finish the books.

I stopped buying books because it was too expensive and it became a waste of money...The only books I buy now are from the Library, and then I resell them on ebay for alot more.

Thanks for all the recommendations girls!!! I've bookmarked them all!

Maribelle, I can't really consider the library b/c I'm looking to own them. I use some of the books quite often for reference. My DH and I would like to build a library in our home at some point.

i've found that sometimes buying used books is great too - just watch to see what type of condition they say they are in!
