Keep in mind that if your dress is hemmed with a high heel then when you put on your low heels for dancing, your dress may be too long!

Thrilled:

DSW Shoes is hit or miss. I've been to a couple different stores at different times and they had different selections at each store. I did find the Nina shoe that Charliesgirl got at the DSW store in San Antonio when I was visiting TX over the holidays but not at the location in Queens here.

I ended up getting my shoes through myglassslipper.com which had great service - I got my shoes in 2 days. If you order online I would see about trying on the brand of shoe locally first to get a sense of the sizing.

Hi,

If you have not picked your dress yet, I would hold off buying the shoes - what if you choose something off-white, sometimes you fall in love with a dress you never thought you'd like - in such case you would have wasted your money (if the shoes were pure white.) To be on the safe side, I would bring high heel shoes that are close in hight to ones you think you'd wear - it should be enough for the shop to get right measurements.

Happy: I never thought about the right color for the dress (meaning white/ivory) - based on your post, i also think its best maybe I should approximate the height of the heel ! Great TIP!

Whenever I go to Love My Shoes in Carle Place, they always have a large selection of Bridal Shoes, all dyeable at really great prices. On Voice Rd and I know there are a few other locations, I think in Huntington and Oceanside.

I have shopped in Shoe Elegance on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook for Bridesmaids Shoes many times. I would def. reccomend them. They are an 'old fashioned' shoe store (like the kind there used to be when I was a kid), they make sure you are happy with the shoe and the way it fits before you leave. They are really great there. I'm getting my bridal shoes there too!!
