Re: Best Reception Hall
Hmmm money with no object. I would hire that coordinator Colin Cowie and let him do his magic. With some of my input of course. hehehe.

Atlantis out in Riverhead. I would have done it there if it weren't so far from where I live...

Re: Best Reception Hall
I would still pick the East Wind but have both rooms opened and have it on a Saturday Night in June, and have an all day wedding from morning to night.

Re: Best Reception Hall
In an ideal world, I would have wanted the ceremony at our college church, performed by the university chaplain (awesome guy!) - but that's definitely not on LI.
For a reception, my preference would have been one of the vineyards with indoor facilities - perhaps Rafael - but they were all too small for us.

Re: Best Reception Hall
I had my dream wedding at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle.......
but if I had to choose a LI catering hall, I think it would be at the Carltun or Oheka Castle.

Re: Best Reception Hall
Fantasy Wedding Weekend:
Welcome Drinks & Cocktails Party: Jersey City Hyatt b/c it has a GREAT NYC view & I am from NJ or the American Folk Art Museum in NYC which allows parties.
Event: Frick Museum on 5th and 71st (don't think they allow weddings but someone told me their parents went to one there). Otherwise, Museum of the City of New York, Metropolitan Club (good idea JLM) or Capitale or Oheka or Bourne.
Small Sunday Brunch: Nassau County Museum of Art, also a Frick Mansion.
It sounds like a bit of traveling, but I would provide transportation everywhere of course.

Re: Best Reception Hall
Oheka is gorgeous, but it is better for a small wedding. When I went to look there, the reception room was not big enough. I would have had to have tables outside of the reception room (his friends). Don't get me wrong, the place is huge and gorgeous, but that one room is small...

Re: Best Reception Hall
I am with Jen-n-dale. I would have him find the most amazing private, hidden secret locaiton on the beach with an indoor and outdoor reception on the water. and during the entire ceremony butterflies would be flying around in the flowers outside.
