My Godmother is looking for a 'wow' gift for the bridal shower...so I turn to you guys...what is the best gift you have received at your shower/want to receive at your shower...we have already received our toasting flutes and cake knife/server...

Ummm a 42' HDTV but that was from my parents! Another gift I loved was my Keruig machine! What about a crystal bowl from Lenox?

I didn't register for a Keurig because we got a coffeemaker and a cappuccino maker, but I love my mom's Keurig!
She can get you lingerie like my aunt did! :)

I wanted the Kitchen Aid mixer but my kitchen right now is way too small, so I took it off. BUT I still want it.
I really want a dutch oven. We have our house already, so I put things we really need on the registry. Ohh, an icecream maker

My favorite gifts I received at my shower are the special themed baskets my mom and sister made for me They made me a huge holiday basket filled w/ decorations for each holiday. Also, a wine basket filled w/ bottles of wine for every important night in our future(wedding night, anniversary, 1st dinner party).
My mom also bought all the towels off my registry and made me a beautiful towel cake. My bm's also did the lingerie clothes line which I really liked, but idk if your godmother would want to do that.

i think it all depends on the bride and what she wants. Personally, I want my luggage set but I know my friend really wanted her pot set.
I think a great gift to get (something not on the registry) would be a spa gift certificate with a note saying to relax and pamper yourself before the wedding or something like that.
If she is looking for something unique, then perhaps a channa plaque?

i agree with the poster that said themed baskets are always a WOW gift.
ive seen one where it was filled with outdoor bbq party stuff like plastic pitchers for ice tea, plastic wine glasses, placemats that kinda stuff
and ive seen another one which i love the idea for a house warming party too, it was a basket filled with all cleaning supplies; windex, comet,sponges, swifer wipes,oven cleaner etc you name it this basket had it!! that was awesome becuase that stuff can certaintly add up

also just to pat myself on the back i did this for my sister and for a friend whose wedding i was in last year
its cake boxes fileld with lingerie it goes with a poem the bottom box is flannel pjs for your 25 wedding anniversary and then it gets sexier and sexier for your 10 year, 5 year, 1 year, and the top littlest box is empty because thats what you wear on your honeymoon! that was definitely a big hit and livened up the shower

Fh's parents: bought us our entire bedroom set from Raymour & Flanagan Fh's sisters bought us our sofa's, coffee tables and end tables and kitchen tables Fh's godmother bought us our wall unit.
for our engagement, my mom bought us our toasting flutes and cake serving set. they also got us a crazy expensive cappucino machine
