So I totally want to splurge on my wedding cake, but I'm not sure where to start for tasting. I'm getting married in the city, so I'd prefer places there, but Long Island/NJ/CT is okay too. Does anyone have recommendations for absolutely dynamite bakeries?

Re: Best wedding cake?
In NYC, there are so many WONDERFUL places! I just got the New York Magazine wedding addition and there is an entire page on bakeries in NYC. The one that I hear about OVER and OVER is Cake Alchemy...very pricey, but if you want to splurge, it would be so worth it! Also, a place called 'Baked', I have tried the cakes from there and they are so tasty! They had a cake featured in the NY Magazine also. They are located in Brooklyn. Hope this helps!

If you really want to go ALL out, Cake Alchemy is probably your best bet.

I agree..you should also look in any magazine in the back where they list vendors and give their info..I was looking last night at some upscale never heard of wedding magazine..you wanna spend on a cake..I would def go to the back of a wedding magazine and start searching
