Beware of Target!

I registered here thinking I was doing people a favor since there are Targets everywhere and they are less expensive. Turns out they are awful at registry's. My MOH has been going nuts with them. She kept hearing of people buying stuff off the registry, then someone else like a week later buying the same thing. Apparantly, they don't remove the item from the registry at the register. You have to circle what you buy and bring it to customer service (how ridiculous is this!!). There is always a huge line, so they tell you you can just leave it on the counter and they will take care of it, and they dont!! She said she knows of 3 or 4 triplicates that I have already! (she didn't want to bother me with this, but I was concerned a little bc the fortunoff registry was going, but the target one was not at all, I thought maybe she forgot to put the target slips in the invites - turns out they just aren't taking stuff off! She thinks this happens at every target, not just one. She has spoken to managers and even the corporate office and no one seem s to care. Ugh!

I had problems with the Bed Bath and Beyond registry. Many things that I had registered for never made it on the list. And more then half of the things that were on the list weren't in any of the stores so had to be bought on line which presented a huge problem since many people do not buy of the internet. Many people just got me things that they liked since they had such a hard time with BBand B.

Sorry to hear about these problems! We almost registered at Target for the same reason. But we did register at BBandB, and now I'm worried about that too. I've heard horrible things about the customer service at Macy's from more than one person so I tried to avoid there. We did BBandB and Fortuoffs. I'm also going to do Pier 1, but wait until August so I try and get the new seasonal stuff, and have less of a chance of them being discontinued...I'm really worried about BBandB now!!

Good luck with Target. If you do get a lot of triplicats, can you at least get cash back or credit so you can buy the other stuff off of your registry? A pain, I know, but at least you will still be able to get all the stuff you want...good luck!

So sorry to hear about this. I was going to register with Bed Bath and Beyond along with Macys, but just kept my Macy's and never had any problems.

Crate and Barrel has a wonderful registry and I have only heard great things about it.

I have had nothing but great interactions with both BB&B and Fortunoffs...and I have returned quite a few items...no problems what so ever...

I registered at Fortunoff's and Macys. Nobody had any problems with either.

aug9bride - I registered at BB&B and have had no problems at all. I just had my shower last weekend and when I got back I checked back everything that had been bought was marked off. I would suggest to just keep an eye on it or have someone else keep an eye on it for you if you want to keep it all a surprise.

I also registered at BB&B and my shower was just over a week ago. I have had no problems so far. I only got one duplicate (who knows why) but everything else was fine. I checked the registry online and it was completely updated. I have heard about problems with the Target registry in the past especiallywith their return policy.

Actually, my shower already passed. It was supposed to be a surprise but since the guests werew having so many problems with the gifts my mom had to call me to tell me to call them and straighten everything out. When I called them they said they had straigtened everything out. After my shower was when I found out that people ran out of things to buy b/c the only things left were little cheap things. I thought this was strange b/c I registered for so many things at different price ranges and I only had about 25 people at my shower. When I went there to exchange a few duplicates they gave me a printout and that is when I found out that many items I had registered for were not on the list. I haven't heard anyone else complain about BB and B so it may have just been my rotten luck.
