bf and pumping ?S

will have to start pumpin gnow that I will be returning to work on the 14th

SO, can I pump directly into a playtex nurser sleeve? or do I have to pump into something else and then pour it into the the playtex sleeve?
can I freeze/refrig the breastmilk in this sleeve?

My SIL reccomended the playtex as it was easy and convenient. I forgot to ask her the abv ?S

Has anyone seen the nursing bottle they have in the 'one step ahead' catalog? ( website too)??
supposed to simulate bfing as closely as possible.

'collapsible walls and a pressure-equating vavlue that minimizes air ingestion....perfect for working moms who want to keep bfing'

I tried the playtex nurser with Emma. She never took a bottle though. I think you have to create some kind of suction on the bag when pumping so I think you have to pump into a bag then pour it into the nurser sleeve.

What kind of pump are you using, Phyl? If you are using a handheld one, like the Avent, than you'll have to pump directly into the bottle attachment that comes w/the pump. Same thing for the hospital grade electric pumps....they have bottles that fit directly on the suction cups to collect the milk. Both systems come with breast milk storage containers that you can use to store or freeze the milk in.

HTH! If you need more help/guidance, I would contact your lactation consultant.

yep that helped!

and I read the instructions too
I ahve the medela pump and go...comes in a backpack with batteries or u can plug it inot the wall.
Had to boil all instuments for 20 min b4 using it.
Took almost 25 min to pump (electically) about 3 oz. WOW! seems like a long time, Accding to what I have read tho, that is usual for the first pump session. eventually should be able to get it down to 8 min. That is a lot better since I will be pumping at work...and cant get away for 1/2 hour at a time.

got now, I pumped intop the attached bottle., then capped it and in the fridge. Good for 5-7 days they say. Next pumping I will use the bags and freeze it.

Pumped while sitting in my glider- watching J in her swing.

I think that this is the only thing I got done today Important yes, but its tough for my type A personality to deal with.

Gee I am going to feel wierd pumping in front of the nanny next week. They say its easier to pump if u can do it at the same time u r bfing the baby...maybe...will have to c if I need 3 arms to do that!
