I will be totally honest- i'm not too crazy about it and the reason is bc you said at the end that there is a formal reception to follow. The invitation dosen't give it a formal feel. I think the invitation should reflect the kind of atmosphere you are looking for. When I read your invite, and I do like it, I don't feel like it's going to be a formal affair.

Mr & mrs
along with
Mr& mrs
request the honor of your presence
at the union of thier children

amy
&
grant

Please share in our special day
as we come together with family and friends
We invite you to witness the expression of our love to one another on
date
time
place

Something like this I think. It's just my opinion. Good luck!

If you really want to do a verse switch it around

Make it:

Share love, friendship and laughter...
as
Mr * mrs. smith
and
Mr & Mrs John
invite you to share in the union of their families thru their children

Mary
&
John
etc
etcl
etc

hmm thats an interesting point. i put it there cause its a sunday daytime wedding and many of the older guests are, well, old school and im worried that since its a sunday daytime they will come in pants suits or non-formal dress..any other way to say that without making it seem to stuffy?? i just want people to dress formally without being overly blunt - and its not black tie...
