I watched a movie last night with Collin Farrell where he is in love with his girlfriend, but in the past had relations with his male best friend. I also know someone who was openly gay throughout his 20's, then goes and marries a lady and has 3 kids, claiming he changed. If you fell in love with your guy, then he turns around and starts telling you homosexual stories from his past, would you still marry and persue him?

Re: Bi sexual husbands
it seems like you dont belive in bisexuality... i feel you can be born straight, homosexual or bisexual... but i agree with you that it is something youre born with.. not something you wake up one day and are like 'im gonna be gay now'

To be honest I have no clue what I would do. Let me hope that this never happens to me.

Re: Bi sexual husbands
OK..... the subject header is different from the poll. In the subject it states 'Bisexual' implying that he is attracted to both men and women. For that I voted 'Break it off'. And I stand behind my vote.
The actual poll, however (which I failed to read correctly before casting my vote) states if he had ever EXPERIMENTED, which is entirely different from being bisexual. So, on that note, if I found out he'd ever experimented, then no, I wouldn't break it off- HELL, I experimented, why hold it against him?
The subject header needs to be changed to reflect what the poll is about more clearly..... Amy

I don't know what I would do if I was already married, hopefully I will never have to experience that. But if we weren't married, I think I would call it off. I believe people are born either straight or gay and if someone has homosexual tendencies I would be uncomfortable entering into a commitment as important as marriage with that person.

I didn't say I would break up with him if we were already married - I believe in committment and working things out. But if we weren't married yet -well, lets just say I'd have second thoughts.
And I love how people say 'Oh no way I can't believe all the people who would break up with their FH / DH' etc etc.. have you ever been in this situation?
I feel the excat same way about all the people who say , 'Of course I would leave him' you don't know till you've been there, and honestly we don't know if people posting about this have been in that situation & are just not elaborating.

I guess this is just a matter of opinion and defination as to what is a bisexual. I feel like even if you experiment that is a charateristic of bisexuality.

Re: Bi sexual husbands
I have no problem with people being gay/bisexual, etc. AT ALL. But I don't know if I would want to marry someone because it's not something that I have a personal appreciation for or understanding of (never dabbled or considered it, etc.). It's like having a preference over blondes vs. guys w/dark hair.
I think (especially nowadays) bisexuality is more accepted among women then men because it's 'cool/hot' to other guys - how much over-exposure have women to women relationships had over the years??? How many guys get all rah-rah when they see two girls kissing in a club/bar? Each to his own, I just wouldn't prefer dating/marrying someone with that experience, especially if they were not forthcoming about it (like in my case w/ex boyfriend). It's not even a matter of preference, it's a matter of personal safety (STD's).

isnt that a tad bit stereotypical though?

Re: Bi sexual husbands
To some degree. But without getting graphic, I know that husband has never engaged in sexual activity that could be deemed risky in terms of passing blood to blood, etc. Again, I'm not saying I'm right and everyone else is wrong, it's all about personal preference.

Re: Bi sexual husbands
no i know.. but anyone can get an STD from either sex, gay straight, anything....that was the 80s when everyone believed HIV was a between gay men.. im just saying in general.. not saying youre wrong

Re: Bi sexual husbands
No I know, and it's cool. Actually I think recent reports have indicated that HIV rates are rising among african american teen girls (I think I saw that on CNN). I just figured I'm minimizing my risks by dating/marrying Mr. Clean vs. Mr. Questionable past. I guess I was burned by ex-boyfriend because I had no idea WHO he really was or what he was doing. I could never get close/intimate with him if he was holding back so much of his life from me. To me (regardless of sexual orientation) it seems like an unnecessary risk. The day after I found him in the club, I felt like a bombed out building - burned and empty.

I can say I am 100% sure that I am heterosexual, regardless of what I did while in college. That does NOT make me 'bisexual.' I feel that people that are bisexual are attracted to both sexes both sexually AND emotionally. I never had emotional ties to the women I messed around with (2 to be exact). In fact, it was what it was - harmless experimentation.
