FH and I went to see the church about getting married today. I was a little nervous wondering what kinda questions they were going to ask us and even if they would marry us since FH is only baptized and not confirmed but they said its not a problem.
Now listen to this one.... The church implemented a fee for late brides since it has been a common problem with them. If you are more than 15min late to your reception, they charge you $200. If you are more than 15 min late to your wedding, thats another $200. Have you ever heard of such a thing? LOL.
We also went to check out the Chateau Briand and it looks like we are going to book there! The rates were reasonable and the place is beautiful! We wanna do a food tasting first before making it official. Im so excited im so close to having a date set!!!

Try to say you wont book there unless it less!!! I know where I work its only $500 fee and a lot of times I will waive it since its a deal breaker.

Seriously the 'donation' and the pre-cana are cheaper than renting the chapel at a hall and then you still need to hire an officiant. So as long as im not late, I will be saving money LOL
that late fee is nuts. i hope my church doesn't do that! they didn't say anything so i'm hoping that means no. my church is only 3 min from my house so i'm not planning on being late.
congrats on finding a RH you like!

Dont worry it shouldnt be a problem in all churches. The fee was put in place by a deacon who is no longer there because he was getting sick and tired of the late brides holding up other weddings and masses. I told the guy hey if he is no longer here, why do you still have the fee??
