Some of you know I have turtles .. well last year about 11 months ago my turtle Aryana went missing thanks to my father who opened her out door pen and left it open for her to walk out of it. AFTER MONTHS of searching i gave up once fall hit.

Skinny as all hell but she is eating bannanas and strawberries and walking around doing great.
SHE CRAWLED INTO MY BACKYARD THIS MORNING!!! She came back to me!!! So happy my baby is back!!!

yah see...u have to realize turtles are so slow...what was 11 months in turtle days was like a week in human days!

2 things how did you know it was the same turttle? I mean I know you know your pets but did she have something distinctive on her shell or something? (I like turtles also, had one when I was a kid, rescued it actually). And second, I saw a turtle crossing the street today on my way to work on a busy street. I was scared for it but couldn't get out to save it!

She is a hybrid between an eastern box turtle and a three toed box turtle. Her markings are very distinct. I had a few people call me up when i put flyers up originally saying they had my turtle then i would go down there and find out they were regular eastern box turtles and mostly males that they found on the road in west babylon. I told them return them to the wild those are wild turtles mine was a farm raised turtle.

wow that is insane!!! what a wonderful story!!! My mom has a turtle and a similar thing happened. (it was one of those tiny baby turtles you get in china town). when they first got it, my brother used to keep it in his room. well, one day the tank was knocked over (it was a tiny tank b.c the turtle was reaaallly tiny). and everyone thought that one of our cats ate it or something (i know that sounds awful and impossible, lol) but the turtle was nowhere to be found (not to mention my brothers room was beyond messy, so who would find the damn thing). but it was a few months later that we had forgotten about the thing and all of a sudden my brother saw it crawling around in his room!! we couldnt believe it was still alive. now the turtle is huge (his name is tiny though) and my mom keeps it in a big tank.

I told FH about it and he was like NO WAY!! so i just had to show him the picture.
He said 'AWWW. TURTLE!!' he's happy for you too.
