how much star? I don't think I will need it that often I could shell out the $$$ once in a blue. I just can't drive all the way out to LI for a wax.

Re: bikini waxing
I think, but can't say for sure, that it's about $68, and then there's tip of course....but I went to J. Sisters, too and it was slightly less expensive but much more painful!

Re: bikini waxing
DH's aunt does it out of her home in Hicksville...
I personally have never had her do it to me (just way too awkward), but some LIW ladies have used her for it...
she does my eyes and pits...and uses great wax...so its not bad at all...
FM me if you want her info

Re: bikini waxing
Never done brazillian (yet) but have done bikini and highly recommend it and I agree with the other girls DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! I tried nads and not only did it not work completely but I was bruised. Some things should be left to the professionals.

Re: bikini waxing
Something about brazilian wax frightens me. Is it a safe thing to do? I am very curious about it, especially for the HM, but I don’t like the idea of someone waxing my a**!

Re: bikini waxing
Once you go Brazilian, you never go back! I got it for the HM, and it is so much cleaner and nicer. It IS awkward and not at all comfortable...but in my experience it was not as painful as I thought it would be. I went to Bliss for the first few times, they are about $60 but SOOO worth it.
I go about once every 6 weeks. I sure miss Manhattan, I go to a place in Stamford now and its more painful-i dont think they use the super Bliss wax.

Re: bikini waxing
what are some good places on LI to go for a Brazillian? I used to get it done when I lived in Orlando, and they called it a Brazillian, but it definitly wasn't. I used to go out here, but it was getting too expenisive and I couldn't find a good place. When I move back to NY, I'd like to start it up again, especially for the HM! Let me know where to go!

Re: bikini waxing
I do Brazilian, in the salon ONLY! I would never even attemped to try it myself! It's really not that bad at all, especailly after you had it done a few times...
If I need to ' clean up around the edges' I use a Nad's waxing kit and to it myself at home.
I used to go to j.Sisters, then started goign to Dorit Baxter, but it's now closed indefinitely due to water damage to the building!
Surprisingly enough, I discovered that one of the woman at the salon where I do my nails does really good, and VERY gentle Brazilian, all for $30! Ask at your nail salon, you never know!

Re: bikini waxing
OK... I have a question. If you dont have hair around your A$$hole... MUST they still do it there. Thats VERY PAINFUL sounding. Can you just have them leave a landing strip and call it a day? Or would that be a bikini?

Re: bikini waxing
I know my FH would looovvveee for me to get it done, but it seems so painful and akward. I do my lip and my eyebrows myself, it's not that bad. But down there, it's got to hurt.

Re: bikini waxing
Its not as bad as I thought. I mean, it doesn't feel great, but it wasn't that bad. The inner part of my leg/bikini area hurt more than anything else. I haven't had a true brazillian wax though so I have no idea what the 'back area' would feel like!

Re: bikini waxing
Honestly, the 'back' part is the least painful, the most embarrassing probably, but the least painful. The skin isn't as thin there and not as much hair and it's usually the last thing they do so I always have a sense of relief. Sorry if TMI

Re: bikini waxing
I do brazillian too. The first couple of times it hurt, now it's a piece of cake
The backside is actually the least painful. If you have no hair there they won't do it.
I pay $40 in Suffolk and I go about every three to four weeks.
