the girls don't all get to try on dresses- my friend was like a size 20 and she just held it up to her body, decided she liked it, and got measured for the correct size. Very few places out there will have larger samples to try on
How can they tell that it looks good on them though? I'm frustrated!
You can't, that's why bridesmaid dress shopping for anyone above sample size is embarrassing. But, if your girls are like me and have been self conscious their whole lives, they know what looks good on them. FSIL has a very large chest, so she knew she would need a halter to pull up those bad boys. Have them try on what they can and hold up the rest. They will be able to get the picture. As the bride, just keep in mind their potential problem areas and stay mindful when choosing your dress!
David's Bridal had a lot of dresses that look similar now....she could try them in there just for an idea!

One of my bridesmaids is bigger then then sample size and she just didn't try it on. I just tried to pick a dress that I thought would be flattering in everyone.
Or you can follow the same color but different styles. Not all body types look good in the same dress, even when you're a sample size. I learned this when I went gown shopping.
One of my bridesmaids is bigger than the sample size for Bill Levkoff. She just held it up to her and thought it would look good. I felt a little bad because I understand but she was a good sport about it. I'm sure it will look beautiful on her. It's not really a big deal.
One of my bridesmaids had this issue. She wound up going to bridal reflections on Carle place because tthy have larger sizes in bill levkoff just so everyone knows!
Most of my girls didn't fit well into the sample sizes but the store we went to had some plus size dresses so the girls that didn't fit into the dresses just tried on similar dresses in their size.
I wore a Bill Levkoff for my besties' wedding and I squeezed my big ol' normal size 14 behind into one of their 14's that are really like a normal size 10 and just didn't zip it up. Unfortunately bigger girls will have to put the dress up to their bodies to see. I know that Estelle's often has dresses in the plus sizes. Also just a heads up, your bigger girls will be paying an extra fee for the bigger size. I wound up wearing a size 20 and had my undergarments attached to the bodice of the dress.
