Birth Certificate & Marriage License Question

My FH legally has two last names. Let's just say its Smith-Jones. His social security card & driver's license has Smith-Jones as his last name. His birth certificate only says Smith. Will the marriage license say Smith-Jones or Smith? And will I have a problem having my name changed to Smith-Jones? Should I try and order a name correction for his birth certificate?

TIA

Birth Certificate & Marriage License Question

I would try to order a name correction. I'm not sure there will be a problem, but if they can fix it..you know it will just be easier...as far as picking a last name though, leagally they let you pick any name you want. You can pick one of his last names, both, triple hyphen, make up a new last name thats a mix of all the names..lol no seriously, when you go get a marriage license you can pick so I d not think you will have any problem changing your name to his two last names.

Thanks. I actually just found out that in NYC I don't need a birth certificate. A friend of mine got his marriage license today. It shouldn't be a problem so we won't correct it.
