Birth Control

We are planning on getting married next summer 2006. I am currently taking birth control pills( over two years now).

I was wondering was the approximate time you should wait b4 TTC so that the BCP are out of my system?

my Dr. told me that as soon as I wanted to start TTC- I could just stop. I went off 4 months before TTC though. I wanted to make sure it was out of my body even though he said that there are no side effects of not waiting.

My doctor told me the same thing. That I could start TTC as soon as I stopped taking them. He did say that you don't always ovulate right away though.

my doctor recommended waiting 2 cycles, just to give your uterus a chance to form a healthy lining.

The pill is out of your system right away - but some docs say you should wait 3 cycles to make sure your period is regulated.

On the other hand - you are most fertile right off the pill.

I got preggo my second month off the pill - and my first time trying.

If you are hoping for a honeymoon baby go off your BC a month or two before your wedding. I was on BC for 9 years and then i went off of it a week after the wedding and got PG two months later. Best of luck...
