Birth control and breast feeding

I'm no longer bf, since when I got pregnant my milk stopped (and have since miscarried) but my best friend is breast feeding, and our gyn just put her on 'the ring' which is progesterone and estrogen - anybody familiar with that? the doctor told her it shouldn't interfere with her milk production, but hello - I thought it was not safe to take estrogen in any form when you are breast feeding. Am I wrong? thanks!

Im with you, I thought the only thing BFing women were allowed to take was the mini pill. I hope your friends doc is right, my friend was BFIng and her doc put her on something and it completly stopped her milk production.
