Birth Control and TTC Question....

I have a question for you girls.

Do any of you believe you are having trouble TTC because of your previous use of Birth Control Pills?

The pill scares me but I have anemia and my doctor wants me to get on them to lose less iron during periods. I just don't want to come into a problem later on in life when I am married and TTC.

Baby Dust as always!!!!!!!!!!

This may sound silly but I got pg while taking the pill, so I really wouldn't worry about it!

No but seriously, everything I've read says that taking the pill should have no effect on your fertility later on when you do decide to conceive.

Sandra, I think that it does mess with your hormones, and can affect one's cycles. However, age, stress, traveling, dieting, genetics, etc, affects TTC as well.

IMO, I wouldn't get the pill... I've never been on it because I never wanted to chance playing with my hormones.

My friend got PG TWICE while on the pill
I wouldn't worry about it, but talk to your doctor and address your concerns about it.

The pill doesn't affect your fertility... I have a friend who conceived one week after going off the pill, after having been on it for at least 10 years. I got pregnant one month after going off the pill, after having been on it for 7 years...

They say you are most fertile for the first few months right off the pill. I got pregnant one month off the pill. I was on it for about three years.

I can't answer the fertility question, but...

I'm anemic, and even though I'm on BC I still lose iron. I take a daily iron supplement during my period.

If you don't want to take the pill, and the anemia is your only reason for doing so, you may have other options.
