i have to be honest if ur getting married in december i think if u start pills now u might still have breakthrough bleeding by then....too short of a time for ur body to get used to it....but hey try it out/ ask gyno too if u don't want to use other forms of bc

Well, I had planned the pills out perfectly..... so that i would not have it for the wedding.....Well i didn't factor in stress .....Now i think i will have it the day of the wedding! !

But.....I guess worse things could happen i guess!

Re: Birth control for the wedding?

I was actually thinking about this today! I am not on bc and never have been.... b/c well, I'm still a... you know.... and I'm actually trying and planning to abstain until my wedding night. So I'm pretty unsure of when I should get on bc. Plus I'm trying to lose weight and I've heard about a lot of girls gaining weight or having trouble losing once they are on bc..... ????
Advice? Suggestions?? Thanks!

My gyno actually made sure my BC pills were taken at such a time where I wouldn't have any issues on the wedding day or over the course of the honeymoon. She's like, 'You do not need to be worrying about that on top of everything else'.

You can also discuss skipping the inactive pills in your pack that month with your doctor, too, if the date will interfere with the wedding.

I take Seasonale, so no periods for 3 months straight, which is wonderful....

I guess that's what I'll have to have mine do. Glad to know it can be scheduled like that! I would be soooooooooo bummed if I had my period and all it's cramping glory on my wedding day and honeymoon. That would really be the worst.

Re: Birth control for the wedding?

is it true that you gain weight or have trouble losing weight when on birth control or is that dependent on the type of bc you are on? Or is it just a load of crap altogether???

it depends on what type you are on.

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about two years. I gained 10 lbs, but towards the last year. I just switched to Loestrin 24e, and I lost about 3 pounds this month (nothing changed in my exercise or diet).

and i switched bc i couldnt skip my period on OTC lo.

I was off it, and I went back on 4 months before the wedding. I was not going to have my lil friend for my big day and Honeymoon.
I had no break through bleeding at all.

I have taken a few different BC and I have never gained weight from any of them.

3 period free months??? the Depo shot is a great idea! I think i'm going to look into that.

I booked this particular day because I know I WOULD not get my period that day....

Re: Birth control for the wedding?

I went back on the pill a couple of months ago for this exact reason. My period was regular after the 1st month on the pill, so it should work for you in time for the wedding.

In my experience I only gained about 5 pounds or so going on the pill. I think it just makes me more hungry and my boobs get bigger (a definite plus!!!) I don't think that you will have any more difficulty losing weight on the pill than normal. But it depends on the person I guess.

Lools...just so you know there are side effects to the pill that I know I always experience including irritability and mood swings. I also have a lower sex drive on the pill.

Good Luck to all of you. I definitely am happy knowing I won't have my period on my wedding or during the honeymooon :)

You must be one of those lucky ones with regular periods. Mine comes when it pleases which is one of the main reasons I went on it in the first place!!
