OK girls I have been off the pill for 4 ys bc i HATED the way it made me feel and i hated having the water weight gain.
Anyway, my period is SOOOOOO bad,. I have literally missed SO many days from work bc I can not get out of bed. Today I was in so much agony that I paged my gyn. and asked him for something FAST (he had already given me Anaprox whihc was like taking candy to my horrible cramp). He insists the only thing thatll help is going back on the pill and he suggests YASMINE.
Are any of you on YASMINE and if so, did you gain weight or do you have other problems?

Oh sorry you are feeling so terrible! I have been on Yasmin for about 4 years, I have had no problems at all with it- no weight gain, less cramps...I still get a little moody, but I think that smore from stress!! My skin has gotten better too. Of course, I am just one person, others may have had different expereinces, but Yasmin has been the best pill I've been on.

I was on Yasmine for awhile.....I switched because I got headaches (which I still get even while PG)
have you been diagnosed with endometriosis? I ask because my best friend was in TERRIBLE pain with her period and she ended up having endo.

No I have dismenaria (sp??) and its pretty much a fancy term for 'bad periods'. Ive had it like this my whole life. When i was in HS it was the worst but it hasnt gotten much better. My FEAR is that i get it on my wedding day or while on HM, i could deal with the 'gross stuff' but the pain is UNBEARABLE and will ruin my day.
I think i should try and see what happens. I have nothing to lose

You sound exactly like me...I can't be on the pill because I am soooo sensitive to it (being on it makes me miserable), but not being on it I have the terrible periods that you talk about it. I never went back on it because even when they tried giving me low dose ones I was still really affected by it. You still have some time before your wedding so if you want to try it I would say go ahead, since I am about 13 days away from mine I would say that I waited a little too long :(. Good Luck
I had no bad side effects while taking Yasmine, though I did bleed through anyway, which I have done anyway with the ring, pill and patch. I liked it much better than any one the others I had been on.

I know how you feel. I have the exact same thing. In High School it was bad and I got sick alot from it. My doctor perscribed naproxen, which is a pain killer. It has been working pretty good for me! Good luck!

I have been on Yasmin for about 3 years and by far this has been the best of all the pills I've been on (Ortho-tri cycline, Lo- Estrin, and a few others I don't remember). I have had no weight gain although I do get slight break-through bleeding (just some pink every now and again).

I've been on Yasmine about two years and so far so good! I didn't notice any weight gain when I began taking it (and from what I read it can actually cause weight loss!), my periods are SO much lighter... I do still get slight cramping... and sometimes a headache right before I get it... otherwise I LOVE it!

I have been on YASMIN for a few years now and it has been wonderful. I am still moody and emtional a couple of days before my period but I think I would be that way no what. My periods used to be so, so bad and cramps were the worse since I have been taking YASMIN it has been so much better barely any cramps periods are much, much lighter.
When your at the point that you are isn't anything worth a try?(JMO)

I get really sick from my periods too, even when I am on the pill, so my doctor suggested I get my periods less often and put me on Seasonale. Now I only get my period every three months, and its great! I have a few side effects here and there (mostly breast tenderness) but thats it. The down side to it is if you are worried about becoming pg you only have the sure sign every three months.
