I got my period this morning, the 15th. Also known as the day of my wedding 5 months from now. I went back on the Pill specifically to control my period and not have it for my wedding. I am starting it for the first time this Sunday since I got it today.
My doctor told me when I finish the pack in June, skip the sugar pills and go directly into the next pack so I will not get my period at all in July.
Has anyone tried this? Does it really work? I dont care if I get it in July, I just dont want it from 15-22nd.
Any advice?
I feel like I don't have enough time to do a trial run with this since I know the pill takes time to get into your system and the wedding is in 5 months.

Re: Birth Control Pill Question.
I've done this a million times after my doctor confirmed it was ok. It really does work. But you CANNOT miss 1 pill or take it later than you normally do cause that might make you spot.

Re: Birth Control Pill Question.
I think I actually tried this once when I was on the pill years ago and I think I spotted. What's worse? Having it for the normal 5 days or spotting for a whole month!!!

Re: Birth Control Pill Question.
I actually dod the opposite... I calculated that I'd have my period during my honeymoon so my last period I didn't take the pill till the week after and now I won't have my period for vacation next week and the honeymoon. Although... I did breakout a bit more b/c you're playing with your hormones so that's why I wanted to do it now to get my body used to the new cycle and I should be good

Re: Birth Control Pill Question.
I am also in the same boat! My period is not regular, so there was not a right way to calculate it
I do not want to have my period on my weddung day!!!!!!!!
What pills r u taking? Which ones are causing less weight gain/side effects? Any comments on yasmin?

I did the same thing. I didn't continue the pack instead I took a week where the plecebo would be and made the following week my period. This way there is no spotting and your not messing up your body by missing an entire period.

Yup... I found that worked better than skipping my period too then waiting another week after my period to start taking the pill. It worked perfect and no spotting.

I have been on Mircette for years and I have not had any issues with weight gain or any other side effects.

I've done it twice and it works. Just start your next pack after you finish the last active pill.

I got my period for the week I was supposed to last month then instead of starting the pill on Sunday when I normally do I just didn't take it for the week and then started the Sunday after. Now I'm back on track and getting my period one week later then I used to get it. Hope that makes sense b/c now it works out for the wedding and honeymoon.

Re: Birth Control Pill Question.
If your MD told you to do it, then go ahead. Personally, I've done it with my MD's blessing a bunch of times. The only time you shouldn't do it is without your MD's consent or knowledge.
