Birth control question

In the last 6 months, I've switched to Loestrin24. I'm due to have my period the week of my honeymoon and on this new pill I'm confused on how to throw off my cycle so that doesn't happen. In essence on this pill you have 24 regular pills and 4 placebos. If I'm a Sunday start, when do I start a new pack to avoid getting my period one month, to throw off my cycle? FM me if this is confusing. I tried to explain the best I could.

when you start the fourth week, instead of using the fourth row of pills, start a new pack.

Yeah skip the placebos and just go right to the new pack and when you finish this new pack and start the placebos next time your period will be one week early. So in your case the week b4 your HM

im on loestrin24 fe too, how to do you like it BTW? regardless of pill, skipping it is always same. at end of last week you start new cycle instead of taking iron pills. I get scared to screw around with things so ive never done but im just a wuss. And plus, Id prob do it if i were going to have it during HM. Altho, being on Loestrin I barely get anything, HOORAY! Sorry, TMI. They brag most ppl have their period for avg of under two days and really light. But Ive heard many women say they loose it completely!

I'm on this pill too. Problem is that you take 24 active pills and only 4 placebos instead of the standard 21/7. So that might mess with your start date for subsequent packs.

so you think its okay to do...the worst case is that my Sunday start will not be a Wednesday start? Gotcha. I'm going to call the DR but I figured I'd ask LIW girls first. Thanks.

since your pack has 24 active pills, what you can do is take pills number 1-17, the skip the last 7 days of active pills and just start the last 4 pills (iron pills) you will get your period one week early, start your next pack on sunday (one week early) you new cycle will be one week early as opposed to being the week of your wedding. That is how you can avoid messing up your sunday start. BUT I would call you Doc to make sure this ok first

Oh I definitely think it's safe to do. Just that it might change your start date. I'm sure you could manipulate it even more and like stop taking it early one month (just by a few days) so you could keep the sunday start date the following month. ight get a little complicated so I would ask my doc the best way to do it with this particular pill.


I know they say that this pill makes your period shorter but I've been on it 6 or 7 months and it's pretty much still 4 days but it is lighter.

I personally would use a back up method if you do it this way. Otherwise a might be in your future sooner then planned ! !

finish three weeks of pills-

then on that sunday, start a new pack (you will be tossing regular pils for sun-mon-tuesday and the placebos)

since Loestrin only has those four placebo's instead of seven, you have to toss the regular ones (i usually keep them to skip it another time, lol)

how is that possible? You never stop taking hormones! (and loestrin is the same level everyday, so it doesnt matter what order you take them)

I tried to throw off my period, and it back fired on me I got like half a period and it lasted 2 weeks! I would have been better to just suck it up for the 3 days
