So I took myself off birth control at the end of January. I got my period in the beginning of January and havent gotten it since (which I know is normal..) My question is, any of you ladies who have gone off birth control, did you experience lumps in your boobs? I went for a physical yesterday and they did a boob exam. She found 7 or 8 movable lumps. She said she is sure its nothing but she said I could go for a sonogram for my own peace of mind. I am going tomorrow and I am freaking out! So afraid! Any advice?

try to stay calm... i went off bc years ago and dont remember getting ne lumps but everyone reacts differently to it....im sure ur dr is right ..nothing to worry about.....good luck tomorrow...keep me updated

I keep saying to myself, usually when it is something serious there is only 1 lump...not a bunch of little movable ones in both breasts, right? Ahh! this stinks!

I'm in the medical field and I use to work for on OB/GYN. The thing is when u go off birthcontrol your body goes into a shock. Your hormones go crazy, some people wont get there periods for months while others get it for a full month. Everyone's body is different. As for the lumps... When a women goes on birthcontrol it also helps with downsizing cyst.. on the ovaries or in the breast. So now coming off of the birthcontrol, again your body went into shock and could have developed and/or increased the size these cyst. Also to have multiple cyst like that and having then come back magliant is unlikely. I honestly think there are beigin cyst that will settle down after your hormones go back to normal. I def think its a good idea to get the sonogram bc its better to be safe than sorry but i wouldn't worry. I'm not a doctor so of course i could be wrong but from my many years experience in the medical field i honestly feel thats what it is. I hope this helps! Thank you so much! My sister is an OBGYN so I asked her...she said the same thing...my OBGYN said the same thing...but I am just so scared!

Try not to worry!I have lumps all the time. Mine are cysts that come and go whenever I am getting my period. Very scary at first but I actually am used to it now.

no worries!!!! i've heard of that happening before as well......i'm sure its just your body saying what the heck is going on!!!! it'll all be better in a few hrs when you go back to the doctor.....stay clam and try not to think about it

I am sure you are fine and it is just your body adjusting. I get lumps in my boobs right before my . and it goes away after the second day. Dr. says its normal.

movable lumps are good, stagnant lumps are bad... at least thats what they told me when they thought i had lymphoma. i had lots of movable lumps or lymph nodes actually that turned out to be benign, so i think youre safe. not like im a doctor or anything lol. good luck <3
