so what's the deal with loestrin 24? are you not supposed to get your period while on it?
its supposed to make them shorter but in some cases (according to my doctor) some women will have it very light, or not at all. I don't think its intentionally made to make you not have it though.

Re: birth control recs?
I take Seaonique...it is the 3 month pill. They actually have a generic (Jolessa) which is what I take. So far no problems. My cramps are much more manageable.

loestrin 24! i have not gotten aunt flow for like 3 years. (my doctor said this is normal) which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it i guess. I don't mind at all though however lol
wait like not even one drip???
no.. and i went to my doctor b/c im like uhhhh is this normal and he's like 'yeah its totally normal w/ this pill to get it light or not at all' so im like oook!
same thing happened to me when i switched to loestrin but it freaked me out so much that i hadn't gotten aunt flo in 8 months that i switched. i'm on yaz now, i get it for two days.
ITA!!!!!!!! this freaked me out, i would have anxiety attacks every month thinking i was pregnant, yet still taking BC cuz i wouldnt KNOW that i was pregnant if i were....and thinking my baby would come out w/missing limbs and stuff...
its comforting for me having my friend visit every month...even if its only a couple days or so...
im back on Ortho Tri Cyclen now

Re: birth control recs?
Here is what i was told... .i too had ortho lo but insurance stopped covering so i went to lessina.
Was on it for awhile and then stoppped getting my 'gift' Went to dr and she sad
The pill is actually supposed to stop this. There is no need for a period if you are not producing eggs, so that means the pill was working and all was great.
I am a hypocondriact and was not okay with no period. To mean that meant and i couldnt do it. I went off the pill for awhile to get regular and am going back to one.... not sure what but maybe lessina again. Worked wonders

Re: birth control recs?
same here.. I used to be on otho lo & insurance wasn't covering it anymore, so I switched to seasonique..but the generic form Jolesta. So far has been okay, after the 1st 3 months though I spotted a lot. Now it has been 6 and I seem okay. I'm going to try it for a bit longer though to see. Good Luck!

Re: birth control recs?
I sometimes break out around my chin when I get it, or a week before I get... do you know which pill is supposed to help with this? Also, I tried ortho tri, for other reasons (cyst in ovaries) and it made me emotional ALLL the time.. I would cry for EVERYTHING...

Re: birth control recs?
I had the same problem. When I switched to Lo I found that it didn't keep my skin as clear as the regular Ortho. Still got that 'period pimple'. I'm on Yaz now and my skin is great again. Very rarely do I get a pimple and my cramps are minimal. I'm happy with it. Try it out and see how it goes. As for the others where you don't get your period as much...those kinda scare me. I feel so much safer when I know I get my period every month. Just me being a worry wart.

Re: birth control recs?
I was on Yasmin 28 for 7 years with NO side effects except headaches during the placebo week. If you didn't have estrogen withdrawal headaches on the Ortho, you won't have them on Yasmin (Yasmin is a lower dose than Ortho).
I'm now on Mircette. No side effects except that I recently skipped my period using it (I did this on purpose) and I spotted during the skipped month. It could be that my body was getting adjusted to it and wasn't ready to be manipulated into skipping periods yet.

Re: birth control recs?
Nuvaring... once I got past the idea that I had to insert it I fell in love!!!! It really is great... no cramps, no stomach aches from taking the pill, much clearer skin, my mood swings are practiclaly non-existent... I really like that I don't have to remember to take a pill every day though, I was the WORST at that!!!
