She'll come up with some excuse like 'I figured you were doing something special with your husband'.......

I know,it smuch worse,but what I meant was meant that I can only imagine how you feel, because I was hurt when a lot of people forgot & it must be like that, but a hundred times worse.
Does she usually call, send cards,etc?

My dad forgot mine this year. He called 2 mos. later and I mentioned casually something about my birthday in JULY. I wrote him a letter suggesting he tell his secretaries to remind him of the birthdays of his two children since it must be so difficult to remember both birthdays. Anyhoo, I got a belated card with a check a week later.
ETA: It does really hurt though, and there is no excuse for it. I would call and make her feel guilty--it is inexcusable!

Oh, I'm sorry I'm sure there's a reason...
we haven't hooked up our home phone yet, so I didn't get any calls this year But my mom and dad were here, so that helped...
I know how hard it is to be away from home...

My mother hasnt called on my bday for years. We dont really speak. But last year my dad called two days late and actually thought that was my birthday. It hurt a lot! I know how you feel.

aww Shana.... there really isn't any excuse for that. I know that everyone is busy and days come and go, I would be as hurt as you are if my Mom forgot my b'day

I would be totally upset too. But maybe she felt that since this was your first birthday as a married woman, you would have special plans with your DH and wouldn't want your mom calling and interrupting. I can see my mom thinking that way.
Then again, she could have just called first thing in the morning or while you were at work...so, forget it. She has no excuse.
