So i will be wearing a strapless gown. recently, i purchased a strapless underwear/bra/waist cincher thing, but i don't really like how it looks with the dress. so i am thinking about using cups. however, here is my question. since the wedding is in august and i sweat (yes, i sweat! ), i am somewhat worried about belly button sweat and that leaving a stain or mark on my gown (while I will be wearing it). any suggestions? do i stuff my belly button with cotton?

Re: Bizarre question about sweating
I'd just put on a ton of baby powder in that area right before you put on the dress. that should hold it - I assume that you'll be in air conditioning most of the day.

Baby powder...or even an unscented deodorant in that area....but I was soaked under my dress and that was March....only my legs though...that slip is RIDICULOUS

Use an anti-perspirant. It's probably a good idea not to get it IN your bellybutton, just around it. I'd also swipe a little on under my boobs,

Are you wearing hose? You may not be, b/c it's August, but if you do, they might help 'absorb,' and if you wear them over your long line bra, there will be an extra belly button buffer.

Re: Bizarre question about sweating
Thank you for bringing this up! I had my 1st fitting a few weeks ago and I was sweating SO much...mostly my legs. I was utterly embarassed when the woman took my gown off. I had also put lotion on that morning. Mental note, do not put heavy body lotion on day of wedding. Perhaps you could put/sew a piece of thin cotton fabric or something else that's very thin and light in that front portion of your waist cincher thingee? Maybe it will help absorb or prevent some of the moisture. Those things totally make you sweat!

Go and see your dermatologist. What you describe is best managed with certain medications that you can get with a prescription.

thank you ladies!!! i didn't even think about powder or antiperspirant. brilliant. i think the fabric may be too thin to sew anything to it and nooooo, i am not wearing hose underneath it. you ladies rock! i appreciate your input! all of it!!!

I agree. Even a regular doctor may be able to prescribe something. Otherwise perhaps a strip of cotton sewn in that area of the cincher will help.

I have never thought of ever putting anti-perspirant under my chest...and sometimes I really sweat there... good idea...maybe that will help me
