black bridesmaid dresses

my bridesmaids and i love this black bill levkoff BM dress with a rose colored sash but havent ordered it yet. its a lovely dress. but i am hearing things from people like my mother such as 'the pictures will be dull' and 'black isnt a great color for summer.' its making me second guess the dress. do you think my pics will be dull? is black bad for summer? ps- i want to use hot pink and light pink flowers and the dress is tea length. wedding is a friday night.
do any of u guys have pics of your weddings with black BM dresses?

I am using black for my BM Dresses

I always wanted black and never even thought to pick something else.

You won't have black flowers, so as far as the pictures being dull, I really don't see that happening.

I love black bridesmaid dresses and think that dark colored dresses look soooooo classy in photographs. If you love it, go for it!

I'm having a summer wedding, and I'm pretty sure that I'll have dark colored dresses, too. I may not have black (don't want to fight my mother on that one), but probably either Navy or Wine.

Do what you want and get what you love. I bet the dress is gorgeous and will look awesome in the photos.

I was in a wedding a few summers ago that was a Saturday night in July and we wore tea legth black dresses and they looked great...we had callalilly bo-ks but the bride had a bo-k of hot pink roses...it was all very classy...I think w/ the added color you are talking about it's going to look AWESOME...sorry I don't have any pics.

we are doing a black & white wedding, ( with pin accents) & my bm are wering black dresses, IMO , its certainlly not dull , its very elegant.. Ive even aske that the moms wear blak as well,,, ..

my bridemaids dresses are black. and my accent colors are pinks. there dresses are all black and i am having there flowers in shades of pinks. my jr bridemaid and fg will be in light pink dresses. my wedding is in oct. i think you can use black any time of the year.

I think the BMs in black is just fine! THere are a couple of brides that have used black and their pictures are gorgeous! Check the brides review board, Camacho used black.

black bm dresses are beautiful - so elegant...and the bride really 'pops' in those pictures....it's all about YOU!

I think black dresses are so elegant - and with a pink sash & flowers...wow!

we'll be wearing these for my best friends wedding on 07-07-07 and she will be using hot pink flower colors that will pop!!! I think it is going to be gorgeous!!!!

I'm getting married in August and my girls are wearing black. I was originally going with red flowers, but everyone was telling me it was too morbid, so I changed to light pink. Like everyone else is saying... it will look very elegant!

None of my bm's really wanted black so i was like ok no big deal but i love the way it looks...

Black is NOT DULL AT ALL! And you can use any color you want for any time of the year [u have 2 be more cautious with flower colors, however]. Also, if you do a black bridesmaids dress, THE PIX, believe it or not, will come out better than any other color! REALLY! Black is much more classy & elegant. I did a B&W wedding, and it was way beyond elegant! Theres no right or wrong when it comes to ur wedding!

Look at someof these pix from my wedding! It was a beautiful July wedding & the dresses were gorgeous and elegant!

I was unsure about black at first and honestly didn't even think about using that color. But, the dress that we all fell in love with looked the best in black... IMO. So it was a no brainer.. the dress was gorgeous and so I went with black and i'm SO glad I did. It was so classy.
