black bridesmaid dresses

I really like black bridesmaid dresses but both my mother and FML hate the idea and think its morbid...
i'm thinking of a black, silver/champage, pink theme...anyone else doing the same?
can u share some pics..i'm having troulbe finding some

My best friend is getting married this July...and our dresses are black. To make it a bit sumemry...she is tying in sage green to her color scheme.

I'm in another wedding next Feb and the dresses are also black.

I think black is very elegant and looks good on everyone. On top of it...the girls might actually wear the dress again!

i dont see anything wrong with having a black bridesmaid dresses nor do I see anything morbid about it!

tell your mother and FMIL that your wedding is in freaking TWO THOUSAND TEN and people do that stuff!

i was originally going to do navy and silver, but im thinking of changing to black and champagne-i think it looks beautiful not morbid lol

I considered doing black because it would look great on everyone and then I could go really bright and funky with the flower colors, since anything goes with black. FH didn't like the idea, and I am not a huge fan of black myself. I think it's a great option for BM dresses and gives you the ability to have lots of options for other colors!

Right now...I'm leaning towards black, tea length dresses...hoping they could wear them again, but at least they won't need to purchase new shoes or a bag..unless they want to. It is not morbid. A lot of people are moving in this direction.... They will look amazing in pictures with the guys in black tuxes and you and DH will POP in the pictures. I'll inject lots of color in the flowers on tables...but I think I want them to hold white calla lilly BoKs.

My MOH's will be in Silver. By the way I love the idea of black BM dresses. It soooo chic and soooo rewearable if you pick something cute!

I'm doing black...sorry I don't have a pic right now, but its a beautiful Jim Hjelm gown. My flowers are all different reds. I think black is a great classic color.

i agree with the fact that black dresses are classy & elegant. also black dress tend to forgive all body types.

My FH's best man's Fiancee is using all black with white flowers.

I wore black in a bridal party several years ago also.

It'll look nice no matter what. Tell your fam .... that although you appreciate their feedback you will do what YOU want. Your Girls will be thrilled to have a black dress!

my sister got the same response from her inlaws .. but the dresses and everything looked amazing.. our dresses were black with a white sash & our flowers were black magic roses.. but you can choose different sash colors.

My friend did this for her wedding. Unfortunately i have no pics cuz FH didn't take any and i was in the BP so i couldn't.

It looked great. We had long black dresses and hot pink flowers.
