Any of you have that dark line from your belly button down?
It just appeared for me overnight, and I noticed it this morning. I heard that there's a myth about that line: it means you're having a boy.

Yea, I don't believe it either. My mom had it, and I came out... lol.

Yes, it's called 'Linea Negra' and I think most pregnant women get it regardless of the gender of the baby.

I got it, and I had a boy... actually it's more than a year later, and it's still there! Hardly, but you can still see it!

This is what I read. It has to do with hormones increasing the melanin in your skin.
I haven't gotten it (yet) and I'm convinced I'm having a boy... we'll find out for sure tomorrow!!! Hopefully!!

I was bummed I got the line, too... cause I have a belly tattoo. Not only do I have to worry about it stretching, but not I also have a line that makes it look funny... lol.

Re: 'Black line'
I got it but it came on suddenly and later in my pregnancy - it wasn't there in my 6-7 months - not sure when it appeared. We shall see in a few weeks if the myth is true. And the line runs both above and below my belly button - yuck!

I had it also and I had a boy but it's definitely a myth.
I also heard that since the area around my belly button turned black also that it meant it was a boy but I don't really believe that. I think it has to do with the pigmentation of your skin not what your carrying.

I also had it and I had a girl so I guess it's not true.
Then again all of the myths did not hold true for me.

Re: 'Black line'
My sister had one of each and had it with both pregnancies. I never developed the line and had a girl.
