Black Sheep
I have read these boards from time to time over the course of my engagement but never posted before. I have hit some bumps in planning so I figured why not give these boards a try. I was recently advised that it is recommended that Brides introduce themselves so that other Brides don’t suspect them as being a vendor in disguise. Since I was not aware of this rule I am starting to piss people off. I promise I am not a vendor, just a bride who is getting stressed out as the big day gets closer and things are starting to blow up.
I am not sure what you would want to know but here goes…
It wasn’t the cliché love at first sight, but with Dan it was definitely love at first date. We met when we were 19 through a mutual acquaintance. Marriage was the furthest thing from our minds but with our first date feeling like something out of a movie we both started to wonder. Dan took me out for sushi, which was new for me. We had the most amazing time talking, joking about my poor chopstick ability, and smiling until our faces hurt. The check was accompanied by two fortune cookies so Dan suggested we read them aloud for fun. “Accept the next proposition you hear” was mine, and “You’re heading for a land of sunshine” was his. Later on in the evening Dan reminded me of the fortune and said that he had a proposition for me. He asked if I would go out with him, and of course I said yes. That was almost 12 years ago, and yet it feels like just yesterday. The road was long, and naturally there were some bumps but I would not change a thing. Over the years we supported each other on our journey to becoming adults, all the while helping each other become better people, and developing the strongest friendship and love imaginable. We are best friends. We take pleasure in the simple things in life like good food, good friends, and family. We focus on the positive things we have and make it a point to live the life we love. It doesn’t matter how long it took us to get here, but here we are partners in crime heading for a land of sunshine together with our pup at our side. Our pup was part of our engagement, and that is why my I have a picture of her on my profile and she will be part of our wedding ceremony.
We enjoy our dog, vineyards, the beach, music, and concerts. We are incorporating all of these things into our wedding in some way. The vineyards and beach into our honeymoon, special musical guests throughout our ceremony (it’s a secret to our guests and family), and we are going to the STP concert for our after celebration.
