I've seen it on the invitation too. In the bottom right or left corner.

It goes on the actual invitation in the bottom right hand corner.

Are you having your ceremony in a church or at the reception hall?

I would think that if you have the ceremony at the church, you are requesting the black tie preferred for the reception, so it would be on the reception card.

If both the ceremony and the reception are taking place at the same location, then I would think you can place it on the invite.

I never did this though, this is just what I thought it would be!

I've gotten it on the ceremony invite.. and it said :'Black Tie Invited' and everyone got the drfit and showed up in a Tux.. hope that helps!

Mine is on the reception card, only it says Black tie optional.
