Hi Girls I was invited to a black tie wedding and I am not sure what to wear. My mom is telling me that I should wear a long dress but then I am hearing that I can wear a short dress but it has to be dressy. What do you think? Also do you have any suggestions where I should look a nice dress?

Re: Black tie Wedding
you dont have to wear a long dress. a lot of ppl dont anymore. i went to a black tie wedding and wore a short black dress and so did most of the other girls. just has to be dressy obviously
in fact, fsil was in a long dress and she said she felt overdressed

Re: Black tie Wedding
If i was going to a black tie affair, I would use it as an excuse to go buy a long simple elegant dress. But if I had no money for said dress, I would definitely wear something short, and would try and wear the most dressy thing I had, and glam it up with jewelry and nice bag or something, I would also probably do something nice with my hair rather than wear it down like I always do.

I have two black tie weddings to go to, I just bought two short black dresses. It's think they are fine.

It used to be that a Black Tie Affair meant Tuxes and Gowns but not so much anymore... You can wear a short dress if you would like to

Re: Black tie Wedding
i just went to a black tie wedding... i wore a fancy black cocktail dress and made it even dressier with jewelry... there was a mix of people in long and short dresses.
my FH and I are really strapped for cash since i am on my internship so we wanted to put more money towards the gift so instead of him renting a tux- we bought a tuxedo shirt (that came with a cumberbund and bowtie) at penneys and he wore it with a black suit and you couldn't tell at all that he had a suit instead of a tux
