Re: Bladder Infections
Oh god if you have one you'll know. It's horrible. You have to pee and when you do it burns, and it feels like you're unable to get it all out. You may have dull pain in your lower abdomen also.

You've come to the right person!!! Burning on urination, perhaps blood in the urine, shivering, perhaps fever. Mary MOB
Over the counter Uristat helps me!!! Until you get checked by the Dr.

Re: Bladder Infections
They are awful. You feel like you have to constantly pee and it hurts like heII when you do. Drink lots of cranberry juice and try to get a doc appointment. If not, hit up one of the clinics at CVS or Duane Reade because they can give you a prescription!

Thats happened to me before, though I've never gotten a full blown one...Drinking a lot of cranberry juice is supposed to help.

Yes they are the same thing!
You will know if you have one, as everyone else has stated... definately get to your doctor ASAP if you do... even if you get the OTC Uristat you will still need antibiotics to get rid of the infection (the Uristat will only treat the symptoms).
I hope you feel better! I get them every once in a while... they're horrible!

I usually don't. I think you should see your Dr. Mary MOB

You can experience abdominal cramping with a UTI, so it's definately possible. Either way, you should still go to your MD.

Hmmm that list is very interesting! I'm guessing most of those alter the pH of the urine? Thanks for posting Mary!

Wow, I give you a lot of credit. I know how hard it is for diabetic patients to balence their diets, for my one pharmacy rotation I worked with a pharmacist who would help patients to manage their diabetes and the main portion of the patient counseling involved helping them with their diet. I can't imagine having to worry about the urological issues affecting the diet as well.
