How did you go about doing this? Did you just call for rates/terms, or did you visit each hotel you were considering to see what the rooms look like?
Just wondering cause I am clueless about this.....

Re: Blocking OOT Rooms
we went with what was close to the reception site-
we called and went in and looked at the rooms-then they blocked out rooms and we signed a contract.

Re: Blocking OOT Rooms
We looked at what hotels were in the area & then based our decision on price & our experience with them!
I did not visit any of the hotels

Re: Blocking OOT Rooms
I knew what the rooms were like already, so I did it all over the phone. I had the contract emailed to me, I signed it and mailed it back. It was very easy to do.

What was stated in the contract that you signed? Do you have to pay a fee if any of the rooms that you blocked are not used?

The date that all rooms have to be booked by. The policies of the hotel. We had to guarantee half-we blocked out ten rooms and if 5 are still open by the date we have to pay for them. It also stated how we can add rooms. They will ask for a credit card when you block them out.

Not all hotels do it this way. I have rooms blicked at 2 hotels and I am not financially obligated to either of them in any way. If not all the rooms are booked one monthe before the wedding, they simply move the rooms into the 'main pool' and the block rate is no longet available. If the balock is filled, they just keep giving out the block rate if people ask for it.
