i'm not a blonde, but i do get my hair colors and i have an appt for exactly one week prior, as per my stylist.

I would definitely NOT do it 2 days before - I say 1-2 weeks is ideal. I always think it looks best then, I love my colorist but sometimes it just looks to light right after. If you wait a week you most certainly will not have roots.
