blusher veil

Okay, I am wearing a blusher only because my FH really wants to. But I thought the meaning of it was purity...and well...I lost that while ago! haha. But Im wearing it anyway, hoping to get no rude comments. Also, does my dad lift the veil off or my FH. Im getting a lot of different answers.

It's up to you who lifts it up. I'm having my father lift mine - it gives him one last special thing with the wedding.

I believe the *original* purpose of the veil was to hide the face of the bride in the days of arranged marriages, so that the groom wouldn't run away if he didn't like the way the girl looked. By the time the veil would be lifted, they would have already said their vows and it would be too late.

But these days, its up to you. I didn't do it.

I've heard both also but it's completely up to you. I say have your Dad lift it to kiss you but put it back down so your FH can lift it when he you!!!

I had my Dad lift mine because I think it really meant a lot to him. Also, I think if I would have kept it on the whole ceremony, Dh would have been freaked out and even more nervous then he already was..
