BM alterations

how far ahead of time are the girls supposed to start alterations?

I am not sure but I told them 2 months before just to be safe....I'd rather have it done early then not....but I'm interested to know this too.

my girls started last week so maybe2-3 more weeks for you?

tell them to make appointments though - my salon booked up really fast

Some of my BMs first appointments are for the 1st week of September, which I thought was cutting it close, but the Bridal Salon seemed to think it was okay. They were more concerned with the girls making their appointments quickly since they only do the alterations a few days a week.

I'd say about 3 weeks before if they are going to need more than 1 fitting. If they only need one I would say 2 weeks is plenty.

I think the place had told us 45 days prior to the wedding.

yea- this has been my rule of thumb. i have been a BM 3x and for the two dresses with minor alterations like a hem and taken in a little i went 2 weeks before and then the one dress that needed more work I went 3 weeks before and it was plenty of time for two fittings. HTH

Thanks!!!!!! One BM already took hers in...because she was with me when I dropped mine off...so instead of lugging her dress all over I said drop it off while we are here. lol.
