BM Alterations Vent

BM Alterations Vent

One of my BMs was measured as an 18W when we first ordered their dresses. In an effort to prove that b*tch lady wrong who measured her my BM dropped a lot of weight. We didn't get the BM dresses at a big bridal shop and besides, my BM won't want to have to deal with this woman again, I'm assuming she's taking it somewhere else for alterations. 46 days until the wedding and I asked her what the deal is and she said she wants to wait because she plans on losing more weight! I'm happy for her and all, but at this rate they will have to remake the dress (and let's hope that's possible) but what is she waiting for!?

I don't want to yell at her. She's not the sharpest knife in the drawer to begin with... but seriously.... I'm going to lose it.

my sil is getting married 12 after you and i have yet to pick up my gown. i hoping to drop some pounds too.

to be honest the last thing i worried about was my girls getting their gown altered. if i was able to get mine taken care of a week before the wedding i didnt see it being a problem for them.

good luck

Did she order the dress in the 18w?

Yeah, I'm just concerned because it's not a simple hem. It's going to be a significant alteration. One of my BMs was told 2 weeks for a hem. And it just worries me that she hasn't taken it to get an opinion yet.

Then youre right... she can only loose so much weight before the dress cant be altered anymore... and a new dress will have to be made... call the salon and ask them how quickly a dress can be made? just incase she has to have it made... and tell her!

Ugh I don't want to worry about this. She texted me back saying she's making an appointment with the seamstress so hoping for good news.

Yeah... I ordered a BM dress in a 12... I really should have had an 8 and they can't alter the thing anymore and it's already started to lose it's shape. I am sure she looks great with the weight she lost... She might want to slow it down.

i'm sure it'll be fine ... two of my BMs waited until a week or two before the wedding to get their alterations done (the two BMs are pregnant so they wanted to wait) ... they didn't have any problems and the dresses fit fine!
