Ok, heres how it goes, Im having 2 bm's, my best friend since 13 and my other one since 20. SO..my 2nd ( I call her) BF is teh best, she has been there for me more then I can put into words, and she was the 1st person I told I was engaged, and I immeditely asked her to be my MOH...well the other one ( #1) is great too but not really there when you need her etc..so she calls me today ans says Did you pick your bridal party yet and I say yes, you and friend # 2...and thats all I want , so she says well Im still your MOH right?
Now , I was under the impression that she KNEW she wouldn't be..I was wrong. I didnt know what to say, Im not much for hurting peoples feelings so I avoided the answer and said, I 'm not picking one, she said why? and I said well I dont want to hurt anyones feelings.. Now that I think about it I should have been honest because it was not fair the my MOH to not say she was, and insulting in a way I think?
Help! Anyone know how I should tell friend 1 that I did pick someone else?

Re: BM dilema...
I thought about choosing them both as one is married ( matron of honor) and the one I didnt choose is not..BUT I really feel like I should pick someone who cares about me and will be involved..blah blah blah and I dont feel that from friend 1..and I just feel like my other friend is so excited for me , and I OWE her the honor of it being just for her...she actually 'feels' like it is an honor and that makes me so happy.
I dont know if Im making a bid deal about it and I do have to be honest, but I dont know what to say????

Re: BM dilema...
I would definately pick the person who you want. You are going to have to understand that she will be hurt but if she is your friend she will understand. I am lucky i picked my sister..i didn't have to choose among my friends.
So if i were you i would say look...i didn't want to hurt your feelings but i did pick a MOH______. I really feel that we are much closer these days and you need the support. But you love her too and it would be very important and special to you to have her there there as well. I guess ya gotta understand some of her disappointment..SHe probably feels she has known you the longest...therefore the title is hers.

Re: BM dilema...
MOH is a huge honor - no pun intended. And you're right, you kind of slighting the friend you asked that you TRULY want by asking the other as well.- I am a strong beleiver in people not ASSUMING anything when it comes to a wedding - and i feel people who expect things like that and are vocal about it are rude, and self absorbed, - she obviously didn't consider how her statement would make you feel - or what kind of position it would put you in.- i'd speak to her honestly and let her know that friend' #2 is your MOH
