Am I unreasonable to expect that a bm would ask what she could help with in the wedding? The only thing she seems to be worried about is what she will be wearing on the day of the wedding. Also, she is my FI's sister whom I never actually asked to be in the bridal party. She just kindof invited herself in. How can I handle this?
Give her a job! Just tell her you are assigning 'jobs' to all your BM's to make thing run smoothly and you would like her to do _____ whatever.
I agree with teachertime. Tell her that you need her help with something and see how she responds. I think some people do not know what is involved or expected of a member of a bridal party since every bride is different. I have been a bridesmaid 4 times and each time I did different things. Maybe after you give her an initial job, she will feel like she is not overstepping her bounds.
I have 3 bm that were really involved with the process and 2 that were involved with nothing!!! 1 didnt even come to my shower because she took minivaction to florida!!

None of my bm's actually did much work, including FSIL. I think she is being reasonable at assuming that she is in the bridal party and it is possible that she doesn't know what type of work it entails... Perhaps if you try to involve her and the rest of the BM's she'll get the clue...
