I looooooooooooove this dress for my BMs, but I hate that Jim Hjelm is so pose-y with the models that you can never tell what the bottom of the dresses look like! Supposedly it's trumpet style, which will look good with my mermaid style dress (which may or may not ever be posted here, because FH is extremely nosey).
So what do you think? Be honest, I can take it!

oh very nice! Be careful though...Jim Hjelm dresses in the photos often look different in person! Trust me, I thought I had my BM dresses picked out and then when we saw them in person they were not attractive!

For example...look at the difference in the model pic of this dress and the actual dress...
It wasn't awful in person though...but the more bridesmaid-y ones (i.e. taffeta) looked like a bomb went off!

I'm sure a store near you has it in person...my sister keeps saying that the one I like won't look good on her, but I keep telling her that she needs to judge in person, too...
Don't be nervous! You'll find one that's right for you, just bring in pics of others too in case this one doesn't look good in person or if the bottom wasn't what you thought...
But - judging by that pic, i think it's really pretty and the color is super rich!

i think we tried that one on. my girls thought the bow on the chest was annoying. you DEF have to go see the real thing on a real body w/ JH. even the colors in the pics are off bc of all the airbrushing.

this is a nice dress...there's a shop in SI that carries all of the Jim J. collection. I tried all of the BM's gowns that I like just to get an idea of what the girls are going to look like since we're pretty much the same body type....Anyhow...these models are 90lbs w/ clothes and its not going to look the same on average figures.
I love this dress and the trumpet style has a beautiful cut. You should try it on.
damn toothpick models and crazy alterations! those helm dresses are to die for in the mags though....

two words: digital photography! ever see one of those editors in action? they airbrush in shadows to make them look like they have all this cleavage and smooth out anything that's remotely unsightly. they even change the light/shadow of fabric to enhance the model's figure.

I know! I have a feeling I'm going to be let down in person, if I can even track it down. I picked it based on the fact that I love it, just need to remember that I won't be the one wearing it haha.
My girls range from being tall and thin, average and thin, average and average, and short and average...it's hard to pick something that will suit everyone, but I don't think anyone will look AWFUL in something like this. Of all the girls, I'm the one closest to the model in height and thin-ness (don't hate me!!!), but I'm not the one wearing it...AHHHH!!!!
To the girl who had her BMS try it on, what store was it at?
